Metadata Madness!! An ALCTS preconference in Orlando

CHICAGO — On Friday, June 24, at the 2016 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference in Orlando, the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS) brings you "Metadata Madness!! An Unconference On Anything You Want To Learn." This all-day preconference (8 a.m. – 4 p.m.) will provide participants with a unique opportunity to propose their own session topics on anything related to metadata. Register through the . This informative and hands-on “unconference” will allow attendees to propose a session topic at the beginning of the conference and vote on which topics will be discussed. Topics can be related to metadata tools, schemas, controlled vocabularies, ethics or any other metadata topic of interest. Attendees can either volunteer to lead a session topic or just participate. This event is intended for metadata practitioners, technical services librarians, archivists, digital services librarians, students or anyone interested in metadata.

This preconference is presented by Carolyn Hansen, metadata librarian at the University of Cincinnati and Amy Bailey, head of Western Europe cataloging at Indiana University.
