CHICAGO — 91ý Editions announces a new iteration of its popular eCourse . Nicole Hennig will serve as the instructor for this five-week facilitated eCourse starting on Jan. 11, 2016.

Mobile apps are empowering for people of all ages and abilities. Contrary to the popular idea that apps are only useful for “consumption,” the best apps are being used effectively as tools to enable learning and knowledge creation. In this eCourse, Nicole Hennig will show you how to incorporate apps as learning tools at your library.

After participating in this eCourse, you will:

  • learn how tablets complement laptops, and how their capabilities are creating new learning opportunities;

About the Instructor

Nicole Hennig is an independent user-experience professional, helping librarians and educators effectively use mobile technologies. She is the author of : "Best Apps for Academics" and "Apps for Librarians: Using the Best Mobile Technology to Educate, Create, and Engage." Her , , and , have enabled professional librarians from all types of institutions to effectively implement mobile apps in their programs and services. Her email newsletter, , helps librarians stay current with mobile technologies. She worked for the MIT Libraries for 14 years as head of user experience and Web manager. Her awards include the MIT Libraries Infinite Mile Award for Innovation and Creativity, the MIT Excellence Award of Innovative Solutions, and the ASIS&T Chapter Member of the Year. Nicole loves teaching, presenting, and inspiring people to use technology effectively.
