Sheble receives ACRL CJCLS EBSCO Community College Learning Resources Leadership Award

CHICAGO – The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), is pleased to announce that Mary Ann Sheble, dean of learning resources at Oakland Community College Libraries, has been chosen to receive the 2015 Community and Junior College Libraries Section (CJCLS) EBSCO Community College Learning Resources Leadership Award.

The $750 award and plaque, donated by EBSCO Information Services, will be presented to Sheble on Friday, June 26, 2015, at the 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference in San Francisco.

“Mary Ann Sheble, a former chair of CJCLS, has been involved in library leadership in local, state, regional, and national organizations,” said award co-chairs Sarah North of the College of Western Idaho and David Wright of Surry Community College. “She has been involved in international library efforts, and has shown campus leadership in her appointments to two interim dean positions in addition to her library duties. Sheble is an excellent example for the CJCLS Leadership Award.”

In addition to her many contributions to ACRL CJCLS, Sheble also served as director-at-large on the ACRL Board of Directors from 2011-2014.

Sheble received her B.A. in Sociology from the University of Minnesota, her M.S. in Sociology at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and her M.L.S. from the University of Alabama School of Library and Information Studies.
