Popular workshop returns: Using Twitter for marketing and outreach

CHICAGO — 91´«Ã½ TechSource has brought back the popular workshop with Andy Burkhardt. This is a 90-minute workshop and is hosted live at 2:30 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, June 4, 2015.
This workshop will empower you to build a consistent, effective library Twitter presence that creates value for your library users and promotes the library, its resources and its services. Twitter is a powerful tool that allows you to build community and reach out to people in real time. You can leverage Twitter to market your library, gain a better understanding of your users and provide service and support.
After the workshop, participants will be able to:
- create a Twitter dashboard in order to build awareness and follow conversations;
- schedule tweets in order to save time and maintain fresh content;
- craft tweets that both market your library and create value for your audience;
- use Twitter metric tools to measure and improve effectiveness.
About the Instructor:
Andy Burkhardt is the assistant director for digital strategy at the Champlain College Library in Burlington, Vermont and winner of the 2012 ACRL Excellence Award. His areas of expertise include technology in education, social media, and information literacy. He regularly presents on these topics at local, regional, and national conferences.
