91´«Ã½
CHICAGO — 91´«Ã½ Editions announces a new workshop, , with Africa Hands. This workshop will last 90 minutes and is hosted live at 2:30 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, July 29, 2015.
Planning for college is one of the most difficult and important steps in ones’ life. As a librarian, you encounter college-bound patrons and may have limited resources to help guide their future endeavors.
As information and education centers, libraries are an ideal place for patrons—teens and adults—to learn about higher education opportunities. What can you offer in response to patrons who are curious about college?
In this new workshop, Africa Hands—a librarian with 10+ years of experience in higher education, specifically college admissions and academic advising—will acquaint you with the different types of college-bound students, college-related resources to promote at your library, and ways to work with community partners on programs and services.
Come learn how to initiate or enhance your library services to help more people meet their higher education goals!
After participating in this workshop, you will:
- Benefit from examples of partnership and programs offered around the country
- Have a list of college-planning resources to promote to your patrons
- Learn how to guide your patrons’ college planning information literacy skills
