New workshop shows how to improve website user experience with A/B Testing

CHICAGO — 91´«Ã½ TechSource introduces a new workshop , with Scott W. H. Young. This 90-minute workshop is hosted live at 2:30 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday, June 24, 2015.

One of the first steps in building a useful and usable library website is to understand the experience of users. A/B testing is a user experience (UX) research method that can be used to gain new perspectives on user behaviors. The insights generated from A/B testing can be directly applied towards building more user-centered websites.

In conjunction with , we present this new workshop with librarian and user experience designer Scott W. H. Young, who will provide participants with an overview of various UX research methods, including attitudinal, behavioral, quantitative, and qualitative. He will then dive deeper into A/B testing, guiding participants through the A/B testing process with specific real-world examples and results that demonstrate user experience improvements for a library website.

After participating in this workshop, you will:

  • have concept understanding of UX research methods;
  • understand the application of A/B testing for library websites;
  • learn strategies for introducing and integrating a user-centered design program to existing library workflows.

About the Instructor:

Scott W. H. Young is an assistant professor and digital initiatives librarian at Montana State University, where he specializes in user experience research, web development, and social media community building.
