91´«Ã½

CHICAGO — 91´«Ã½ Publishing eLearning announces a new workshop, , with Lily Todorinova and Lindsay Johnston. This workshop will last 90 minutes and is hosted live at 2 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015.

Course Management Systems (CMS), also known as Learning Management Systems (LMS), are great tools to extend the reach of your learning spaces outside of your library and classroom walls to support both traditional and distance students. In this workshop, instructors Lily Todorinova and Lindsay Johnston will discuss the vast CMS tools readily available for you to deliver course instruction and library support to your learners, including Blackboard, Moodle, Sakai and Canvas. You’ll learn how to use these systems to embed services and seamlessly interface with your campus communities.

Todorinova and Johnston will provide an overview of different approaches on how your academic library can develop a presence in a CMS environment. From wide-scale integration to niche and targeted CMS support, they will present you with best practices for interfacing with students and faculty in these online environments. In addition to project management tips, you will learn about several important issues related to the sustainability of the library’s presence in a CMS, including assessment of the effectiveness of these services.

Join us for this exciting new workshop that will inspire active discussion and an exchange of ideas between librarians who are new to the topic and those who have already established a presence in their institution's CMS environment.

Required background knowledge prior to the workshop: blended learning, online learning, and impact of libraries on student success, which will make for a successful learning experience.
