PLA to offer free webinar on FTC scam prevention campaign

CHICAGO — Join the Public Library Association (PLA) to learn how your library can be an important part of “Pass It On,” the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) new scam prevention campaign with tips and tools for older adults in your community. “” will take place at 1 p.m. Central on April 22.

Presenter Carol Kando-Pineda, attorney, Federal Trade Commission, will discuss how the library can be a valuable community resource for scam and fraud education. Participants will learn how to obtain free FTC educational materials, including fact sheets, bookmarks, PowerPoints and activity sheets to make programming easier for library staff.

Individuals and groups interested in attending “The FTC and Public Libraries: A Partnership of Education and Protection” may register for free , however registration is required and space is limited.

The (PLA) is a division of the 91ý. PLA’s core purpose is to strengthen public libraries and their contribution to the communities they serve. Its mission is to enhance the development and effectiveness of public library staff and public library services.
