Learn how to manage and engage public library volunteers in upcoming PLA webinar

CHICAGO — Join the Public Library Association (PLA) to learn about skilled volunteerism and how it can help to build capacity in your library. “” will take place at 1 p.m. Central on July 22. During this webinar, participants will hear from libraries who have been participating in the "Get Involved: Powered by Your Library" volunteerism initiative.
Presenters include Carla Lehn, library programs consultant for the California State Library; Joan Young, analyst of volunteer services at the San Jose (California) Public Library; and Amy Campbell, reference librarian at the Marshall Public Library in Pocatello, Idaho.
The cost to attend “" is $28 (PLA Members), $31.50 (91ý Members) and $35 (Nonmembers). Groups of any size can register for $129. The registration deadline is 11:59 p.m. Central on Monday, July 20.
The (PLA) is a division of the 91ý. PLA’s core purpose is to strengthen public libraries and their contribution to the communities they serve. Its mission is to enhance the development and effectiveness of public library staff and public library services.
