PHILADELPHIA — United for Libraries will present “Hot Picks for Book Clubs,” from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 29, in the Las Vegas Convention Center, N236, at the 91��ý Annual Conference in Las Vegas.

Join Ana Castillo, Ann Hood, Rebecca Rasmussen and Julie Lawson Timmer as they discuss their latest books. Authors will sign their books following the event. Library Journal’s Barbara Hoffert will moderate.

(“Give it to Me,” Feminist Press at CUNY/Consortium) is the author of several bestselling titles including novels “The Guardians,” “Peel My Love like an Onion,” “So Far From God,” and the poetry collection “I Ask the Impossible.” Her novel “Sapogonia” was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year. Castillo is editor of La Tolteca, an arts and literary zine.

(“An Italian Wife,” W.W. Norton & Company) is the best-selling author of “The Knitting Circle,” “The Red Thread,” “Comfort” and “The Obituary Writer.” She has been the recipient of a Best American Spiritual Writing Award, a Best American Food Writing Award, a Best American Travel Writing Award, the Paul Bowles Prize for Short Fiction and two Pushcart Prizes.

(“Evergreen,” Knopf/Random House) is the author of the novel “The Bird Sisters.” Her stories have appeared in or won prizes from TriQuarterly, Narrative Magazine, Glimmer Train and The Mid-American Review. She was born and raised in the Midwest. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter and teaches English part-time at UCLA.

(“Five Days Left,” Amy Einhorn Books/Putnam/Penguin) grew up in Ontario and earned a bachelor’s degree from McMaster University before heading south of the border. She has a law degree from Southern Methodist University and works as in-house legal counsel in Michigan. She lives in Ann Arbor with her husband and children. "Five Days Left" is her first novel; she is at work on her second.
