United for Libraries to host ‘Hot Books from Small Press’ at 91ý Annual Conference

PHILADELPHIA — United for Libraries will present “Hot Books from Small Press” from 3 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, in the Las Vegas Convention Center, N218, at the 91ý Annual Conference in Las Vegas.

Join Robert Dawson, Adele Griffin and Russ Kick as they discuss their latest books. Authors will sign their books following the event. Books will be for sale at a discounted price. Library Journal’s Barbara Hoffert will moderate.

Robert Dawson is the author of “The Public Library: A Photographic Essay” (Princeton Architectural Press). His photographs have been exhibited in numerous museums, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Getty Museum and the Library of Congress. He teaches photography at San Jose State University and Stanford University

Adele Griffin (“The Unfinished Life of Addison Stone,” Soho) is a two-time National Book Award finalist and the highly acclaimed author of numerous books for young adult and middle grade readers. Her works include “Sons of Liberty” and “Where I Want to Be.” She lives with her husband, Erich; their two young children; and their dog, Edith, in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Russ Kick is the editor of “The Graphic Canon of Children’s Literature” (Seven Stories Press). His bestselling anthologies include “You Are Being Lied To” and “Everything You Know Is Wrong,” have sold over half a million copies. The New York Times has dubbed Kick “an information archaeologist,” Details magazine described Kick as “a Renaissance man,” and Utne Reader named him one of its “50 Visionaries Who Are Changing Your World.”
