Take advantage of programming dedicated to public library staff at 91´«Ã½ Annual

CHICAGO – With three preconferences and nearly 20 programs, the Public Library Association (PLA) is offering an array of programming dedicated to public library staff attending the in Las Vegas.

Things get started from 8:30 a.m. - noon on Friday, June 27, with three half-day preconferences:

  • ; Hear how three libraries—all in different phases of their brand's lifecycle—moved beyond the glitz and glitter to create brands that resonate with staff and customers alike.
  • ; Come learn the transformative power of reframing failure, the true meaning of "yes, and" and the kinds of listening that change lives.
  • ; Hear from four new public library directors about the basics, the challenges and the unexpected in their first few years on the job. Learn how they used career opportunities, 91´«Ã½ experience and other guideposts to enter administration successfully.

During the remaining days of conference, PLA will offer 19 concurrent programs covering topics like community relationships, early literacy, leadership, library data use and more.

A highlight of 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference will be the showcasing the PLA 2014 award winners and keynote speaker Barry Lopez, a National Book Award winner and author of essays and fiction characterized by humanitarian and environmental concerns.
