Sue E. Graves selected for the 2014 Cicely Phippen Marks Scholarship

91´«Ã½

CHICAGO — The 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½) is pleased to announce that Sue E. Graves of Front Royal, Va., has been named as the 2014 Cicely Phippen Marks Scholarship recipient.

The $1,500 scholarship was established through a generous donation by Marks’ husband, Charles L. Garris, and is sponsored by the Federal and Armed Forces Round Table (FAFLRT). The scholarship is awarded to individuals pursuing a master’s degree in library and information studies with a focus on federal librarianship.

Graves currently works at the Smithsonian Institution Libraries in Washington, D.C. She says she loves the challenges that come from being part of such a large federal library system. She believes that federal libraries have a responsibility to share their collections on a grand scale. Graves says, “I want to be part of the process that shows Americans and the world what really amazing materials and information federal libraries have to offer.”

Graves attends San Jose State University in California.
