Angela D. Price selected the 2014 Christopher Hoy/ERT Scholarship recipient

91´«Ã½

CHICAGO — The 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½) has selected Angela D. Price of Memphis, Tenn., as the 2014 Christopher Hoy/ERT Scholarship recipient.

The scholarship was named for a longtime 91´«Ã½ staff member who directed the 91´«Ã½ Conference Services Office for more than 20 years. This scholarship fund was established with donations from Christopher J. Hoy and the Exhibits Round Table (ERT) to honor his memory. The $5,000 scholarship is awarded to a person pursuing a master's degree in library and information studies.

Price says she has been going to libraries her entire life. While working at the Memphis Zoo, she initiated a departmental move from handwritten to electronic record keeping. This activity peaked her interest in digital processing and archives. So naturally, she turned to her local library to gain more knowledge. She began volunteering in the history/archives department of the library. After volunteering for nearly a year and a half, she was hired to work at the library.

Price has been working as a library assistant for the past two years. Her current goals are focused on improving her knowledge in technology and information science.

Price will be attending the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.
