LAS VEGAS—What does the collection and retention of bulk phone records and other personal information mean for the public and for library users? Learn about the ways that personal information and Internet access is managed by the government at “Information Manipulation Part II: Surveillance,” a conference session that takes place during the 2014 91��ý (91��ý) Annual Conference. The program will be held from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2014, in the Las Vegas Convention Center, room N243.

The session will include a panel of privacy and library experts who will discuss the challenges and implications of the government’s surveillance activities, including Thomas Susman, Esq., director of government affairs for the American Bar Association; George Christian, executive director of Library Connection and member of the “Connecticut Four” involved in the 2005 FBI challenge; Vivian R. Wynn, president of Wynn Library Consulting and chair of the 91��ý Committee on Legislation.
