91ý to host e-government panel at 2014 91ý Annual Conference

LAS VEGAS—Every year, more and more people are turning to libraries for job assistance and e-government tasks. Library leaders are encouraged to participate in “Libraries and E-government,” an interactive program that will take place during the 2014 91ý (91ý) Annual Conference in Las Vegas. The session, which will explore e-government tools that libraries are using to serve their patron’s government information needs, takes place on Saturday, June 28, 2014, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Las Vegas Convention Center, room N260.

A panel of experts will detail effective e-government services during the program. Session speakers include Eunice Anderson; acting chief of the Neighborhood Library Services at the Enoch Pratt Free Library; Homa Naficy, chief adult learning officer of the Hartford Public Library and director of The American Place; and Shaney T. Livingston, director of the Alachua County Library District.

Additionally, panelists will discuss , a new e-government website that helps librarians better serve the government information needs of their communities. provides a dedicated space where librarians can share materials, lesson plans, tutorials, stories, and other e-government content. The website offers a variety of resources from government agencies and organizations, including information on immigration, taxation, social security and healthcare.
