CHICAGO – The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), is pleased to announce that David M. Rodriguez, faculty librarian at the Maricopa Community College District and Glendale Community College, has been chosen to receive the 2014 Community and Junior College Libraries Section (CJCLS) EBSCO Community College Learning Resources Leadership Award.
The $500 award and plaque, donated by EBSCO Information Services, will be presented to Rodriguez on Friday, June 27, 2014, at the 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference in Las Vegas.
“Rodriguez has a long history of leadership in, and service to, community college libraries,” said award co-Chairs David Wright of Surry Community College and Beth Lander of Manor College. “His work in establishing the largest community college archives in the state as part of the Arizona Memory Project serves as a model for other community college librarians across the country. Rodriguez’s partnerships with local public libraries to expand services, strong commitment to diversity and leadership in documenting local history in an underserved area are all very worthy of this award.”
Rodriguez received his B.A. in Political Science from Southern Methodist University and his M.A. in Library and Information Management from the University of Denver.
