United for Libraries joins LLAMA to host preconference on ‘Raising $: Process and People’ at 91ý Annual Conference

CHICAGO — United for Libraries will join LLAMA in hosting the preconference “Raising $: Process and People” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. CDT on Friday, June 28 at the 91ý Annual Conference in Chicago.

At this joint preconference, successful fundraisers will share what works, what doesn’t and how to get a better return on fundraising investments. During this full-day of interactive learning, both beginning fundraisers and seasoned veterans will learn about the critical components of successful fundraising. Panel sessions include capital campaigns and how to identify potential donors, as well as building effective relationships with friends and foundations. During speed consulting, attendees will get their questions answered by the pros on topics such as planned giving, starting a foundation, annual fund drives, recruiting for boards and understanding members versus donors. Participants will receive a copy of “Beyond the Ask Event” by Terry Axelrod.

Speakers and speed consultants include: Lynne Carey, Ames Public Library; Kim Olson Clark, 91ý Office of Development; Deborah Doyle, Friends of the San Francisco Public Library; Kit Hadley, Saint Paul Public Library; Peter Pearson, Friends of Saint Paul Public Library; Gary Shaffer, Tulsa City-County Public Library; and Felton Thomas, Cleveland Public Library.
