91´«Ã½ Office for Diversity calls for 2014-2015 Diversity Research Grant proposals

CHICAGO — The 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½) Office for Diversity seeks proposals for its Diversity Research Grant program. Applications may address any diversity topic, including the recruitment and promotion of diverse individuals within the profession or the provision of library services to diverse populations, which addresses critical gaps in the knowledge of diversity issues within library and information science.
The application deadline is April 30, 2014. Applicants must be current 91´«Ã½ members.
The Diversity Research Grant consists of a one-time $2,500 award for original research. A jury of 91´«Ã½ members will evaluate proposals and is encouraged to award a total of three awards. Grant recipients will be announced ahead of the 2014 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference and will be expected to compile the results of their research into a paper and to present and publish the final product in conjunction with the 91´«Ã½ within three months of completing their research.
A complete proposal must include the following: a cover letter, a one-page vita for each of the researchers involved (including their current 91´«Ã½ membership number), a concise abstract of the project and a description of the project detailing the justification and needs for the research project, research objectives, expected outcomes and benefits, budget plan and timeline.
