Genevieve Owens voted ALCTS president-elect

CHICAGO — Genevieve Owens, assistant director of the , is the newly elected president-elect of the (ALCTS). Owens will become president-elect at the 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference in Anaheim and serve as president 2013-2014.

Owens’ contributions to ALCTS are numerous. She has served in a variety of committee positions, including chair of the ALCTS fundraising committee, the ALCTS program committee and the ALCTS publications committee. Owens was chair of the Collection Management Section of ALCTS in 2008-2009 and a member-at-large 2001-2003. In addition to her ALCTS service, she was a member of the 91´«Ã½ Sullivan Award jury and the 91´«Ã½ Presidential Advisory Committee for 2008-2009.

She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and her M.L.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

In 2004, Owens received an ALCTS Presidential Citation for her work re-establishing the ALCTS publications program.
