CHICAGO — The eyes of the publishing world will turn to Philadelphia at 8 a.m. ET on Monday, Jan.27, when the 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½) unveils the next classics in children’s and young adult literature.
The 91´«Ã½ will provide a free live webcast of the announcements, courtesy of 3M Cloud Library. Thousands of webcast viewers will logon to and join more than 1,200 onsite audience members for the announcement of the 2014 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½) Youth Media Awards. The announcements are part of the 91´«Ã½ Midwinter Meeting taking place from Jan. 24 – 28 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. The 91´«Ã½, Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) and Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) will announce winners of 18 awards, including the Randolph Caldecott Medal, Coretta Scott King Book Awards, Michael L. Printz Award and John Newbery Medal.
Known worldwide for the high quality they represent, the awards are selected under a cloak of secrecy by national judging committees composed of librarians and other children’s literature experts. Title selections serve as a guide for parents, educators, librarians and those interested in providing children and teens with the very best reading and viewing materials.
