CHICAGO – The Public Library Association (PLA) is offering special programming for public library supervisors, whether new, experienced or anticipatory. The two-part webinar series, 1 p.m. Central time, March 26 and April 2, will offer attendees ideas to achieve great results from staff and the awareness to recognize gaps in their own supervisory skills and learn how to fill them.

• Part I (1 p.m. Central time, March 26) will examine the basics of leadership and how it differs from task excellence.
• Part II (1 p.m. Central time, April 2) will focus more on the nuts and bolts of supervision, including delegation and trust, work flow, goal setting, training and development and evaluation.

Instructor Cathy Hakala Ausperk is executive director of the Northeast Ohio Regional Library System, owner of Libraries Thrive Consulting and author of the bestselling books “Build a Great Team: One Year to Success” (2013, 91��ý Editions) and “Be a Great Boss: One Year to Success” (2011, 91��ý Editions). She also serves as editor of the “By the Book” professional review column in Public Libraries magazine.

Registration for “costs $45 (PLA Members), $52 (91��ý Members) and $59 (Nonmembers) and includes registration to both webinars. Groups of any size can register for individual webinars for $179. The deadline to register is 11:59 p.m. CT, March 24.
