Ayaba Logan wins Bogle-Pratt International Library Travel Fund award

CHICAGO – Ayaba Logan is the 2019 recipient of the 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½) International Relations Committee's "Bogle-Pratt International Library Travel Fund" award.

An award of $1,000 is given to an 91´«Ã½ member to attend their first international conference. The Bogle Memorial Fund and the Pratt Institute School of Information and Library Science will provide a $1,000 cash award for Ms. Logan to attend her first international conference in Ibadan, Nigeria.

The award is in recognition of Sarah Comly Norris Bogle, a prominent U.S. librarian who made notable contributions to children’s librarianship, international library service and library education.

Ayaba Logan is a research and education informationist at the Medical University of South Carolina, in Charleston, South Carolina. Her job responsibilities are to provide instruction, research and knowledge management services to clinical and research faculty, clinicians, and health professions' students, which includes systematic reviews, expert search services, teaching/education, research consultation, community engagement with MUSC students, faculty, staff and researchers. In addition to conducting, managing, and disseminating library research.

Logan is attending the 16th Biennial Conference of the Association for Health and Libraries in Africa (AHILA) in Ibadan, Nigeria, in October 2019. She is the liaison to the Global Health community on campus, and “attending the Association for Health Information and Libraries in Africa (AHILA) Conference would be a life changing experience from a multitude of perspectives. The conference theme is: “Ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages”. This is an opportunity to bring my Public Health and Library Studies backgrounds together to support colleagues who are striving to help their communities.”

Ayaba Logan will be recognized during the International Librarians Reception at the 2019 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.
