New webinar demystifies student loan forgiveness programs available to school librarians

CHICAGO – A new webinar from the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) and the 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½) Washington Office explores the financial aid forgiveness programs available to school librarians. Presented by staff members from the U.S. Department of Education, “Federal Student Loan Forgiveness and Cancellation Benefits for School Librarians” will take place at 3 p.m. Central on Thursday, March 6. The webinar will provide information on loan forgiveness and cancellation benefits for school librarians with federal student loans. Presenters Ian Foss, Federal Student Aid program specialist, and Brian Smith, Office of Postsecondary Education program specialist, will discuss Perkins Loan cancellations and Direct Loan Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Webinar attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the presentation.
