PHILADELPHIA - The Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations (ALTAFF), a division of the 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½), will host “Mystery and Horror @ your library” from 10:30 a.m. to noon CDT on Sunday, June 26 at the 2011 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference in New Orleans.

Featured mystery and horror writers will discuss their books and writing life. Featured authors include S.J. Watson, Cammie McGovern, Erica Spindler, Bill Loehfelm and C.S. Harris. The program will be moderated by Barbara Hoffert, editor, Prepub Alert, Library Journal. An author book signing will follow. Some books will be given away, and others will be sold at a generous discount.

S.J. Watson (“Before I Go to Sleep,” Harper/HarperCollins, June 2011) lives in London and worked in the National Health Service for a number of years. In 2008, he was accepted into the first Faber Academy “Writing a Novel” course, a rigorous and selective program that covers all aspects of the novel-writing process. “Before I Go to Sleep” is the result.



Cammie McGovern (“Neighborhood Watch,” Penguin, May 2011) was a Stegner Fellow at Stanford University and has received numerous prizes for her short fiction. Her stories have appeared in several magazines and journals. The author of two novels,“Eye Contact” and “The Art of Seeing,” she lives in Amherst, Mass., with her husband and three children.

New York Times best-selling author Erica Spindler (“Watch Me Die,” St. Martin’s Press/Macmillan, June 2011), has written 30 novels, including “Blood Vines,” “Breakneck” and “Last Known Victim.” She lives just outside New Orleans with her husband and two sons.



Bill Loehfelm (“The Devil She Knows,” Sarah Crichton Books/Farrar, Straus & Giroux, June 2011) was born in Brooklyn and grew up on Staten Island. He is the author of the novels “Fresh Kills,” which won an Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award, and “Bloodroot.” He lives in New Orleans with his wife, the writer A.C. Lambeth.

C.S. Harris (“Where Shadows Dance,” NAL/Penguin, March 2011) is the pseudonym for Candice Proctor, the best-selling, award-winning author of more than a dozen novels, including the Sebastian St.Cyr Regency mystery series, the C.S. Graham thriller series co-written with her husband Steve Harris and seven historical romances. A former academic with a PhD in history, she has taught at the University of Idaho and Midwestern State University in Texas and has worked as an archaeologist on a variety of sites. She lives in New Orleans.
