CHICAGO - The Board of Directors of the Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) has approved the appointment of two new publication editors. Alice Platt, digital initiatives librarian at Southern New Hampshire University, will be the new editor of the ALCTS Newsletter Online (ANO). Jeanne Drewes, chief of binding and collections care department at the Library of Congress, will be the new ALCTS paper series editor. Both appointments begin July 1, 2011 and will run for three years.

Platt received her MLS in 2009 from Florida State University following a career in publishing. She was newsletter editor for the Sierra Club of Northeast Florida, graphic designer for Minuteman Press and Bailey Publishing, both in Jacksonville, Fla., and a production manager for a small press in South Carolina. She managed her own small press, Rock Spring Press, for five years prior to finishing her library degree. In addition to her MLS, Alice holds a B.A. degree in journalism from the University of South Carolina.

Drewes comes to the position having held many positions in ALCTS - most recently chair of the Preservation Week Working Group, which was responsible for the highly successful Preservation Week held April 24-30. She has more than 25 years of experience in academic, special and public libraries. She has also served as secretary for the Preservation and Reformatting Section of ALCTS, as a member of the editorial board of the ALCTS journal, Library Resources & Technical Services (LRTS), and on the ALCTS Publications Committee. She has a long list of publications and in 2006 and in 2010, she received an ALCTS Presidential Citation for outstanding contributions to ALCTS.
