CHICAGO —The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the 91´«Ã½, named Megan Honig as the member editor of Young Adult Library Services (YALS).

“I believe in challenging ourselves as librarians to meet the diverse, complicated and critical needs of the many teens in our communities,” Honig said. “YALS has inspired my work as a teen services librarian, and as its member editor, I look forward to starting new conversations about libraries, young adults and our future.”

Honig replaces Sarah Flowers, who is stepping down from the editor position just prior to taking the helm as YALSA President for 2011 – 2012. Honig has recently served on YALSA’s Popular Paperbacks for Young Adults Committee and is the author of "Urban Grit: A Guide to Street Lit" (Libraries Unlimited, 2010).

Young Adult Library Services is an award-winning quarterly journal from YALSA that includes articles of current interest to the profession, showcases best practices, provides news from related fields, spotlights significant events and offers in-depth reviews of professional literature.
