CHICAGO– Thirty members of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) will receive a $750 travel grant to attend their first AASL National Conference. The grants are sponsored by Bound To Stay Bound Books, Inc. (BTSB). The AASL 15^th National Conference & Exhibition will be held Oct. 27-30, 2011 in Minneapolis.

“AASL values Bound To Stay Bound Books’ leadership in offering school librarians the opportunity to attend their first AASL National Conference,” said AASL President Nancy Everhart. “This is a valuable conference catered to school librarians in any stage of their career. AASL looks forward to welcoming our first-time attendees and hopes that their experience at national conference inspires them to return to their schools and ‘turn the page’ in their career.”

Recipients of the grant – Kenya Arrants, Jennifer Baltes, Christine Banuls, Bonnie Benkard, Heather Brown, Jane Brown, Susan Bullard, Jenny Cox, Heather Dahl, Suzanne Dix, Danielle Du Puis, Erin Feingold, Charles Fontz, Anne Hoffman, Emily Hofher, Susan Hubbard, Jennifer Kelly, Karen Kliegman, Helen Kline, Jane Martellino, Barbara Mierlak, Autumn Myers, Rebecca Perkins, Hazel Smith, Sherry Turnbull, Elizabeth Ullrich, Tiffany Whitehead, Konda Wightman, Karen Wilson and Honor Zalewski – will use the grant to secure housing, transportation and/or registration for the conference.

The AASL 15th National Conference & Exhibition, "Turning the Page," is the only national conference dedicated solely to the needs of school librarians and their roles as educational leaders.
