CHICAGO - The 91´«Ã½ JobLIST Placement Center will sponsor a session entitled "Networking in a Tough Economy: Using Social Media to Build Your Personal Brand and Improve Your Chances of Getting Hired" from 1:30 - 3 p.m. CDT on Sunday, June 26 during the 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference in New Orleans.

Come learn tips and strategies for the effective use of social media in creating and managing your personal brand. Panelists will discuss the benefits of branding, best practices for marketing yourself and networking online and in-person. Bring your questions and concerns and share your experiences with branding, social media and networking and leave the session prepared to start or improve your networking skills.

This session will be held in the JobLIST Placement Center, which will be located in Hall J of the Morial Convention Center.

Presenters include: Tahirah Akbar-Williams, the librarian for the School of Education at Johns Hopkins University; Kiyomi Deards, an assistant professor with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln University Libraries; and Christina Thompson, a public services librarian and the college archivist at Hendrix College (Conway, Ark.).
