CHICAGO – Space is still available for the “Boomers, Staff & Students -- Engaging the Many Voices of Advocacy: An Advocacy Institute Workshop” during 91´«Ã½’s 2011 Annual Conference in New Orleans. The program will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. CDT on Friday, June 24. Advanced registration is economically priced at $50 and onsite will be $75.
With these three segments of the population inherently understanding the value of the library, attendees will learn how to engage boomers, staff and students to be vocal supporters for libraries and explore ways to mobilize these groups as advocates. The workshop will also highlight federal legislation and lobbying and how it affects libraries on a grassroots level.
