RUSA book and media awards event offers multitude of choices for book lovers

CHICAGO—All 91´«Ã½ Midwinter Meeting attendees are invited to celebrate the winners of numerous awards and build their 2011 to-be-read lists at the Reference and User Services Association’s (RUSA) upcoming Book and Media Awards Reception.

In addition to The Reading List and Notable Book selections—lists that are used by readers advisory librarians nationwide—the event will also reveal this year’s winners of the Dartmouth Medal, the Sophie Brody Medal, the Zora Neale Hurston Award, the Louis Shores/ABC-CLIO Award and other professional resource lists, including Outstanding Reference Sources, Outstanding Business Reference Sources and “Best of the Best” Business Websites.

The reception will be held from 5-6:30p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 9 in the Manchester A/B rooms of the Manchester Grand Hyatt and will offer food and a cash bar. For those who cannot attend, information about this year’s winners will be posted on the and tweeted via during and immediately after the event.

The literary winners announced at this event will shape the author lineup for the Literary Tastes Breakfast at 91´«Ã½’s 2011 Annual Conference in New Orleans. Attendees at this ticketed event enjoy a delicious breakfast while listening to author readings. Immediately following the meal, authors will be available for book signings and further discussion of their work. Event registration opens Jan. 3, 2011 at , and Annual Conference registration is not required in order to purchase a breakfast ticket.
