New poll on atyourlibrary.org promotes the Youth Media Awards

CHICAGO – Celebrate the upcoming Youth Media Awards with library lovers from across the country and local library users by voting for your favorite Newbery Medal winning book.

The 91´«Ã½ Youth Media Awards honor children and young adult authors, illustrators and producers of children’s audio and video materials. The awards include such prominent literary prizes as the Coretta Scott King Book Award, John Newbery Medal, Michael Printz Award, Randolph Caldecott Medal, Schneider Family Book Awards and 13 other distinguished awards for youth literature. The poll is the newest feature on atyourlibrary.org, 91´«Ã½’s public awareness website. Librarians are encouraged to use and repurpose the articles on atyourlibrary.org to highlight the resources available every day at libraries.
Other recent features include articles about online museum exhibits and classic films, as well as an article by Wanda Urbanska on making workplaces greener and advice for teens about understanding the personal long-term impact of social media activity.
All information on the website is available under a Creative Commons license that allows libraries to repurpose content in either an online or print format. All content should be credited to atyourlibrary.org.
Content on atyourlibrary.org targets parents, kids, teens and job seekers. The mission of the website is to increase use of libraries.
Librarians attending the 91´«Ã½ Midwinter Meeting in San Diego can find out more and register for the website’s bi-monthly newsletter by visiting the Campaign for America’s Libraries’ exhibit space, located next to the 91´«Ã½ Press Office in the San Diego Convention Center (Ground Level, Lobby F).
A prize drawing for all new subscribers will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Monday at the exhibit space. Four winners will be selected each day. Attendees must be present to win.
