Find inspiration for Teen Tech Week™ and Teen Read Week™ in YALSA’s latest book

CHICAGO — Librarians planning celebrations for YALSA’s annual literacy initiatives can now turn to a new, comprehensive resource: "," the first book in the division’s new Best of YALS series. Edited by Megan Fink, a middle school librarian at the Charlotte (N.C.) Country Day School, "Teen Read Week and Teen Tech Week" compiles the best articles on teen literacy and teen information literacy from YALSA’s award-winning quarterly journal, Young Adult Library Services.
More than 30 articles offer ideas on best practices, programming and collection development and marketing and outreach for both events. Special focus is devoted to celebrating Teen Tech Week in challenging situations, such as schools or in libraries with small budgets. Former YALSA President Judy Nelson contributes a thought-provoking foreword, and popular YA authors Walter Dean Myers and Cynthia Leitich Smith both offer contributions on teen reading and technology and how those subjects have affected their careers.
Appendices include YALSA’s , YALSA’s (PDF), YALSA’s and publicity tools for promoting both Teen Read Week and Teen Tech Week.
