YALSA seeks member editor for research journal

CHICAGO - (YALSA) is seeking a member editor for its open-access, peer-reviewed, electronic research journal, the (JRLYA). JRLYA publishes high-quality research on library services to young adults quarterly. The position term would begin with the Spring 2011 issue. The deadline for applications is Jan. 31, 2011.
The member editor will be responsible for the textual and graphic content of the quarterly publication and will work closely with YALSA’s Research Journal Advisory Board, member groups and YALSA’s communications specialist to solicit manuscripts and oversee the peer review process. The member editor will also edit and proof all copy for each issue.
Applicants must have research and editorial experience, excellent communications skills, the technical capacity to work in an online environment and be YALSA members. Experience in library service to young adults and knowledge of the "Chicago Manual of Style" is preferred.

The member editor will be selected by Feb. 28, 2011. The term of the appointment is one year, beginning with work on the Spring 2011 issue, with the option to extend the contract for another two years. The member editor will receive an honorarium of $500 per issue and $500 to attend each of 91´«Ã½’s Midwinter and Annual Conferences. Please note that this is not a staff position and does not include salary or benefits.
