Teen Read Week registration closes Sept. 20

CHICAGO — Registration for ™, the annual celebration of teen literacy sponsored by the (YALSA) ends on Sept. 20. Teen Read Week 2010 is held Oct. 17-23 and will be celebrated with a theme of Books with Beat @ your library®, which encourages teens to read poetry, audio books, books about music and more, for the fun of it. Registration is free and available at .
Librarians who register by Sept. 20 will enjoy the following registration benefits:

All registrants will receive a free trial of TeenInk for a limited time, courtesy of nonprofit supporter, TeenInk.

All registrants will be entered to win one of four prize packs from Cinco Puntos, including "Sammy & Juliana in Hollywood" (autographed), "He Forgot to Say Goodbye" (autographed), "Last Night I Sang to the Monster" (autographed) and "Pitch Black."

Teen Read Week will be celebrated in thousands of libraries, schools and bookstores throughout the country. Librarians, educators and booksellers who plan to participate in Teen Read Week can use resources at the Teen Read Week website — including , , a list of to aid in planning and official from 91´«Ã½ Graphics — to plan special events and services during the annual celebration.
Teen Read Week is a national literacy initiative aimed at teens, their parents, librarians, educators, booksellers and other concerned adults. The purpose of the event is to increase the number of teens who are regular readers and library users. It began in 1998 and is celebrated the third week in October.
