Eubanks, Smith featured speakers at Bookmobile Sunday

CHICAGO – Authors W. Ralph Eubanks and Andrew Smith will be the featured presenters at Bookmobile Sunday during the 91´«Ã½’s (91´«Ã½) Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.

W. Ralph Eubanks is the author of “Ever is a Long Time: A Journey into Mississippi’s Dark Past” and “The House at the End of the Road: The Story of Three Generations of an Interracial Family in the American South.” In addition to his books, Eubanks has contributed articles and reviews to The Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, Preservation, The American Scholar and National Public Radio. He is a recipient of a 2007 Guggenheim Fellowship and has been a fellow at the New America Foundation.
Andrew Smith is a Young Adult author whose works include “Ghost Medicine,” his 2008 debut work, and “In the Path of Falling Objects,” both chosen as 91´«Ã½/YALSA Best Books for Young Adults, in 2009 and 2010 respectively. His latest book, "The Marbury Lens," is published by Feiwel and Friends. In addition to his writing career, Smith also teaches high school and coaches rugby. Themed “Bookmobiles: Delivering Outstanding Library Services,” this year’s Bookmobile Sunday will be held from 10:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 27 in Room 207A/B of the Washington Convention Center. The program offers moderated discussions on advocacy, eco-friendly vehicles and fuels, mobile service options, bookmobiles 101 and marketing, in addition to the featured author presentations. An author book signing and Parade of Bookmobiles, where attendees can board and explore a comprehensive range of bookmobiles, conclude the event.
