Win $250 from YALSA for Your Great Idea

CHICAGO - The (YALSA) extended its . Through July 15, YALSA will accept applications from YALSA members or official YALSA member groups that help the association meet its strategic goals. YALSA seeks ideas that will:

  • make YALSA’s awards and booklists into household names
  • ensure young adult and school librarians have access to important research
  • help YALSA better advocate for quality library services for every teen in every library
  • develop continuing education or career services that librarians need
  • engage YALSA’s current membership and recruit new members

The winning idea(s) will help YALSA achieve the goals laid out in its most recent (PDF): Advocacy, Marketing, Research, Continuous Learning and Member Recruitment and Engagement.

Two $250 prizes will be given: one for current YALSA members and one for an official YALSA member group, including committees, juries, taskforces, discussion groups, interest groups and advisory boards.

To apply, visit the and download the (Word doc). Applications are due to yalsa@ala.org by July 15. Winners will be announced the week of Sept. 7 and will have their photo and idea featured in YAttitudes, YALSA’s email newsletter. YALSA will also implement their idea.
