To establish a focal point within 91´«Ã½ that will emphasize the Association's continuing commitment to multiple literacies beyond divisional and unit membership committees; to provide an opportunity for broad representation of the membership and affiliated groups to exchange information and share ideas, identify concerns and omissions, and coordinate programming; and, to develop and promote strategies for increased literacy activity within the Association.

The Literacy Assembly is made up of representatives appointed by the leadership of 91´«Ã½’s divisions, round tables, and committees.

Expectations

91´«Ã½

The Literacy Assembly will facilitate communication between and among 91´«Ã½’s offices, divisions, and roundtables. Assembly members will work with the Committee on Literacy to ensure that there is broad knowledge of 91´«Ã½’s diverse literacy initiatives. Assembly members will identify and promote literacy programming of all kinds and all literacy-related awards and publications.
