The Board will want to discuss how best to measure the learning that took place, whether or not this effort is worth continuing for another year and, if so, what improvements need to be made. Sarah Flowers has provided some information below to guide the discussion. Action Required: Discussion Several Board members have worked on presentations to the Board in the areas of their self-assessment. Sarajo worked with me to do a board chat on social media. Stephanie and Sara led the board chat on recruiting and engaging members. Chris, and Jack led the May chat on Big 91ý. Penny has worked on creating dashboard reports for the board, and has begun writing a series of blog posts on finances. She also worked with me on the Planned Giving and donations board chat. Priscille updated the Board wiki page in the area of the 91ý Policy Manual and Handbook of Organization Others had more personal goals (reading certain books or web-based materials, etc). I plan to send out a follow-up assessment to ask the following questions: What did you get out of the Board self-assessment? What did you learn this year? What would you change or do differently for the future? For continuing board members, What would you like to focus on in the coming year? Questions to Consider Was the individualized approach to building governance and leadership knowledge and skills effective? What did Board members gain from it? Should this approach be continued?
